This piece was commissioned for the chapel of Elizabeth House in Tempe, Arizona, a home for pregnant women in crisis. Where almost all works of art about Mary and Elizabeth illustrate their greeting in Luke 1, I wanted to focus on the relationship between these two women. The comfort of an intimate friend is a gift from God.
